St. George’s Market Nights

Go back to St. George's

St. George’s Market Night is held every Tuesday evening in the Olde Town beginning at 7:00 pm. This fun filled event showcases grass-root artists and crafts persons offering an assortment of locally made products and a variety of entertainment.

Up to 50 vendors fill the Square with their bright and unusual handmade items. The evening atmosphere is enhanced with Island music. At 7:30 pm the St. George’s Town Crier ducks a nagging wench in the waters of the Harbour; this is a most unusual spectacle. Topping off the magical evening is the arrival of the Gombey dancers. They begin their rhythmic hypnotic age old dance with the lure of their drums which pulls people magnetically into the square. More live entertainment follows, each week features different entertainment from steel bands to cultural dancers.

To add to this wonderfully festive evening, food vendors offer all sorts of goodies, homemade cookies, baked cakes and good old fashioned snowballs.

Market Nights is organized by a group of business owners in the town. A big thank you to our sponsors; Ace Foundation, Belco, Butterfield Bank, St. George’s Club, Corporation of St. George’s and St. George’s Division Bermuda Chamber of Commerce.
